I double-majored in Professional Communication and Cultural Studies with a focus on African American studies at the Chatham College for Women at Chatham University. After interning for the first community supported television station, WQED located in Pittsburgh, I went on to work for the national feminist fund, Third Wave, in New York. I went on to join the Customer Success team at Squarespace, where I worked for two years. After a few years in NYC, I moved back to Pittsburgh joining the nationally ranked startup accelerator, AlphaLab. Currently, I lead digital marketing & community engagement at one of the nation's most active early-stage investment funds, Innovation Works.
I balance my day job with various board positions and passion projects such as Invest In Her, a yearly pitch competition and network for women entrepreneurs. I am committed to supporting and empowering people of color, LGBTQIA folks, women, and underserved communities to prosper in the new tech economy.
I have served as a guest speaker and panelist at local and national conferences, including the Lesbians Who Tech Summit in San Francisco, and the TechUp Summit in Washington, DC where I have spoken about “bro-culture” and the ways that startups can develop a culture that is inclusive of everyone.
